Charli’s Landing, a new restaurant that will pay homage to the local fishing community, is preparing to debut in Mission Bay at 1717 Quivira Rd.
The new restaurant is getting ready to move into the former home of Royal Rooster in the Seaforth Marina on the northeast side of Quivira Basin, first reported by SanDiegoVille. Company owners Brant Crenshaw and Ryan Tuller recently submitted a liquor license application to open later this year in the former home of Landing Grille. Charli’s Landing is named after Crenshaw’s young daughter and is expected to open in the next few months.
When the new restaurant opens later this year, customers can expect various options from the all-day menu featuring grab-and-go breakfast items and late-day options, including tacos, burritos, smash burgers, and seafood sandwiches. The fast-casual eatery will have a walk-up ordering system, but customers are welcome to enjoy the food while overlooking the marina on the outdoor deck and within the adjacent park. The restaurant will also have alcoholic options, such as mimosas and beer.
Charli’s Landing will be in a great spot to succeed, only having to complete with Dock House Grill south of the Marina Village Conference Center. Across the street from this new restaurant will be Sea World, where visitors often eat before entering to save money. While these factors will help the business succeed, the most significant factor will be the many nearby fishing charters, boat and jet ski rental companies, and whale-watching businesses that will produce hungry customers after their respective excursions are completed.
