Local furniture store owner Shannon Lee is planning to open Midtown Pavilion at 1621 Battleground Ave. in Greensboro.

The spot will be an outdoor event space, focused on providing the community with a hub to gather, enjoy entertainment and eat food, according to reporting by the Triad Business Journal. Lee plans to have food vendors on site at the pavilion, and customers can expect special events in months to come, such as movie nights and farmers’ markets.

Lee is a relatively new business owner in the Greensboro area. She previously operated her business, Shannon Lee Furniture & Décor, in both Kernersville and High Point before relocating about a month ago to her current spot along Battleground Avenue.

She moved her operations to the lot in Greensboro, which stretches several acres and used to be home to Guilford Builders Supply, to have a larger area for inventory and a showroom.

Midtown Pavilion will neighbor her furniture store location, with plans for it to take form on an acre-sized asphalt-and-gravel lot that was formerly a lumberyard. It also currently features a covered shed.

Lee is planning to prep the outdoor space quickly, with an opening slated for October.
