Federal Donuts used the unlikely pairing of donuts and fried chicken to help reinvigorate the Philadelphia dining scene. Not content to limit its influence to the City of Brotherly Love, the chain is making a big push into the suburbs with the help of a franchisee trio, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Partners Michael Heller, Michael Sloane, and Chris Magarity have signed on to open nine Federal Donuts franchise storefronts in Philadelphia collar neighborhoods. Precise locations are not yet available for these new locations, it is, however, confirmed that they will be in the suburbs.
Alongside signing on to spread the chain’s unique cuisine beyond city limits, Heller, Sloane, and Magarity have bought and assumed ownership of four Federal Donuts in Philadelphia, located at 1909 Sansom Street, 21 South 12th Street, 701 North 7th Street, and 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The trio of entrepreneurs believe strongly in the brand, created by Tom Henneman, Steve Cook, Michael Solomonov, Felicia D’Ambrosio and Bob Logue. They have already opened one Federal Donuts franchise in Radnor, with locations in Willow Grove and Conshohocken set to open later this year and in early 2025, respectively.
