A new vintage restaurant-bar concept is heading to 218 Bowery in Lower Manhattan next year. Neil Wong has filed for a liquor license for the address, with hopes to open the spot in May or June, Wong told What Now New York.

The location was previously home to Mister French, which closed in 2021.

The restaurant will have a vintage theme, featuring live jazz, a basic bar and a classic American bistro feel.

“Our building used to be a 1940s accommodation for soldiers coming out of World War II, so we’re playing into the 1930s and the 1940s theme,” Wong said.

The menu will serve American comfort food such as loaded nachos, quesadillas, mozzarella sticks, flatbreads, fish tacos and burgers, according to paperwork.

The two-story building is 7,000 square feet and will have 23 tables that will seat a total of 75, as well as one bar that will seat 16.

Planned hours are 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
