A Northern Italy-inspired restaurant is set to reopen in the East Village just in time for fall.
Salumeria Rosi, owned by Andrew Loscalzo, is renovating its space at 222 Avenue B. The East Village restaurant debuted in January 2026 as a second location alongside the brand’s flagship on the Upper West Side.
“We opened six months ago, but we had some damage with the building, and we used the opportunity to really just do things that we wanted to do. We’re redoing portions of the restaurant. It’ll be noticeable to our guests, and they’ll appreciate it,” Loscalzo told Whatnow New York City.
Guests can expect aesthetic updates, along with the debut of Salumeria Rosi’s late-night bar, which will stay open until 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
The restaurant is known for its authentic Italian flavors, serving freshly baked croissants, artisanal breads, paninis, salads, pasta and entrées from brunch through dinner.
Standout dishes include the Cacio e Pepe, featuring house-made thick spaghetti with pecorino Romano, Parmigiano Reggiano and black pepper; the Orata, pan-seared sea bream served over zucchini, mint-basil purée with sautéed cherry tomatoes and snow peas; and the Chicken Scaloppine, an organic panko-breaded chicken breast served with an arugula, cherry tomato and roasted apple salad, topped with spicy honey.
Upon reopening, Loscalzo said Salumeria Rosi will roll out its late summer and fall menu.
Loscalzo looks forward to welcoming back the East Village community.
“I’m excited to get back to the neighborhood. We love the neighborhood. I just miss everybody. We want to see all our guests that we’ve been building a relationship with. That’s really what it is,” he said.
Salumeria Rosi is expected to reopen after Labor Day. Visit the restaurant’s website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for construction updates and grand reopening details.
