Madewell has expanded its presence in New York’s Brooklyn with a new opening. The new store brings the brand’s clothing and fashion collection to the neighborhood.

Madewell Opens New Store in Brooklyn

Madewell has opened a new store at 51 Bergen Street in Brooklyn, New York, on November 4. It occupies an approximately 4,500 square feet space on the ground floor of a historic building in the Cobble Hill neighborhood. It is the brand’s second Brooklyn location and ninth in the New York City area.

According to a report by WWD, the building was originally a horse-drawn carriage factory during the 1800s. Later, the building was used as a belt factory.

The store’s design preserves some of its original architectural features. This includes timber post-and-beam columns and a tongue-and-groove wood ceiling.

An open, loft-like floor plan gives the space a more contemporary layout. This helps combine the building’s historic character with the brand’s focus on craftsmanship.

About the Store

Madewell’s new Brooklyn location will carry the brand’s latest collections for men and women. Customers can shop the brand’s clothing and accessories, including its well-known denim offerings.

Customers can also access services such as one-on-one styling, in-store pickup, denim trade-up, and hemming.

Madewell was founded as an American clothing label in 1937. J.Crew revived the name in 2006 and transformed it into a contemporary clothing brand that first catered to women’s casual wear, especially denim. Over time, the firm added more clothing and accessories to its lineup before launching collections for men.

Madewell’s company, which has expanded to include pants, tops, jackets, shoes, bags, and other accessories, still revolves around denim. The company serves consumers all across the United States by selling its goods online and through its retail locations. Denim and everyday wardrobe necessities are the main themes of its collections.
