According to Berkeleyside, Home of Chicken and Waffles is leaving behind its spot at 444 Embarcadero West and relocating to a new Oakland address.

Coming to 247 4th Street, the eatery will land near establishments such as Buck Wild Brewing & Taproom, Original Pattern Brewing, and Tiger’s Taproom.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the restaurant, Home of Chicken and Waffles introduces itself as a “popular, late-night eatery and bar specializing in chicken and waffles, plus other soul food staples” on its Facebook page.

What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s owner, Derreck Johnson — also known in the Bay Area for his run for Mayor of Oakland back in 2022 — to inquire about the shift, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
