CHAGEE is preparing to expand its presence in Northern California, with a new Modern Teahouse planned for Westgate Center in San Jose. The location is part of a broader expansion that will bring at least six CHAGEE stores to the Bay Area in 2027.
According to the San Francisco Business Times, the company is pursuing locations across San Francisco, the South Bay and the East Bay. The Westgate Center store is planned for 1600 Saratoga Avenue in San Jose. The approximately 1,543-square-foot space is expected to add the brand to the shopping center’s dining and retail offerings.
CHAGEE, which operates under the Modern Teahouse concept, specializes in Chinese-style tea beverages. Its menu includes freshly prepared tea drinks, including milk tea and other tea-based options. The company has expanded internationally, building a large store network across several markets.
The San Jose opening follows other announced locations in Northern California, including stores planned for Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara and Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco. Together with the Westgate project, these locations form part of the company’s effort to establish a stronger presence throughout the Bay Area.
The Westgate opening also adds to the brand’s California expansion. CHAGEE already operates stores in several Southern California markets, including Orange, La Jolla, Glendale, Ontario, Mission Viejo, and Long Beach, according to its official store directory.
The company has not publicly confirmed individual opening dates for all six Bay Area locations. The regional expansion is expected to take place throughout 2027, according to the Business Times
