According to a zoning clearance application found in City of Oakland public records, a lululemon store is planned for 2495 Broadway. Based on the timing of our source, it’s likely that this new store will open around mid-2022.
Lululemon Athletica was founded in 1998 in Vancouver, Canada, originally as a design studio by day and a yoga studio by night. The studio soon became the first lululemon store, initially selling designs for women to wear during their yoga practice.
Eventually the brand evolved to design clothes for all types of “sweaty pursuits,” including running, cycling, and training. More than two decades since its inception, lululemon now boasts almost 500 stores worldwide.
