In a new development, Sluts Wine Bar’s deal to open up a brick-and-mortar space is now off.

In an Instagram post, Chef Imana, owner of Hi Felicia and Sluts Wine Bar said that the landlords backed off citing the reason that “it’s not a good look if we have to evict a Black woman opening a queer bar.”

Imana’s pop-up Sluts Wine Bar previously announced that they were moving in at 1817 Market St. However, now that the deal is off, they are now looking for another brick-and-mortar space.

“The landlord made me believe we had a repoir, even mentioned wanting to invest, just to abruptly and shockingly shut down and end all communication in an extremely inhumane way,” said Imana on Instagram

The popular pop-up has an evolving menu that includes a selection of natural wines, cheeses, and branzino dishes.
