Noir Lounge is being converted to Gambit Lounge after the former closed its doors following nine years of business.

Located in Hayes Valley at 581 Hayes St., Gambit Lounge is operated by Cezar Kusik and Edward Calhoun

While the lounge was first slated to open in summer, it is now expected to open up after at least a couple of months.

“We still haven’t figured out the about the opening date. We just got possession of the place and we will have an opening date soon,” said Calhoun.

Gambit Lounge will be Kusik’s first independent venture. The duo had been looking for a location for three years.

Serving quality wines, spirits, and cocktails, Gambit Lounge will be a sophisticated place for adults. Along with the main bar, there will be a common table area along with a champagne lounge. It aims to offer a quality wine and bar experience. It will also have a small food menu with selected dishes inspired by Eastern and Central European kitchens.
