Local restaurateurs Adam Orman and Fiore Tedesco, owners of the successful restaurant L’Oca D’Oro, will soon be opening a new pizza place called Bambino, according to a recent report by Eater. The report states that the restaurant will be opening in the Govalle neighborhood near Springdale Road and Airport Boulevard with a prospective opening date sometime in Summer 2023

According to the duo, Bambino’s pizza will be “meld[ing] New York with grandma pies.” Articulating this concept, Eater explains “this would be some amalgamation of a round thin-crust pie w typically made in a gas oven that is served by the whole or slice (New York), and then the also-thin but square-shaped pie baked in a pan (grandma, which originated in Long Island).” The report further specifies that there will be a full bar at the location.

What Now Austin briefly reached out to Chef and Co-Owner Fiore Tedesco who tells the publication that he is not able to articulate further detail about the upcoming project, but confirms that no details reported have changed since its publication.

Until Bambino opens its doors, curious readers and partners may experience the duo’s original eatery at 1900 Simond Avenue, in the Mueller neighborhood.
