Murray’s, an upcoming neighborhood tavern, will soon be opening in east Austin, according to a recent report in Eater. The establishment will be located at 2316 Webberville Road, near Fleet Coffee and Veracruz All Natural, occupying the space of the former bar Gourmand’s.

According to Eater, Murray’s will serve a simple drink menu, featuring drinks such as a Rob Roy and a frozen Brandy Alexander, draft and canned/bottled beers, wines, along with miniature three-ounce cocktails, similar to what Owner Travis Tober would offer as the beverage director of the former restaurant Vox Table.

Alongside Mr. Tober, the tavern will be run by other notable local bar figures such as Nicholas Yanes of Juniper and Verbuena and Brett Esler of Hestia/Kalimotxo. As of the report’s January 3 publication, the owners had not yet provided detail about the tavern’s food component.

What Now Austin reached out to Brett Esler, Operating Partner, to inquire about potential opening dates and food menu details, but he was not able to provide more information than what had already been reported.

If the Eater report remains true, the tavern should be up and running by summer 2023.
