Brooklyn-based Paulie Gee’s pizzeria will make its Philadelphia debut with a new shop in Center City. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Paulie Gee’s Soul City Slice will open in the former Amis Trattoria spot at 412 S. 13th St. in the Washington Square West neighborhood. This location will have a pared-down menu and sell New York-style traditional rounds and squares by the slice or pie with some vegan options, as well as Spumoni and water ice.
The Philly Paulie Gee’s will be decorated in a retro 1960-70s style, as well as Sixers and Phillies posters and spin oldies records. It will be run by founder Paulie Gianonne’s son, Derek Gianonne. There are currently seven Paulie Gee’s pizzerias in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New Orleans, Chicago, Baltimore, and Ohio. Learn more about Paulie Gee’s at pauliegee.com.
