The Blue Point Grill is planning to make its long anticipated arrival in Newtown. After several delays, the restaurant anticipates opening in August, reports Newtown Now.

Blue Point will take over 3 West Road, in the area vacated by the Corner Bakery Cafe.

Blue Point Grill’s current plans allow for seating of up to 245 guests. The facility will allow for both indoor and outdoor accommodations.

Jack Morrison, who owns the Blue Point Grill, had hoped the establishment would be open by now but remains optimistic for a late summer debut. The eatery attained its first, provisional approval in August of 2022.

Morrison, the president of the JM group, also owns Nassau Street Seafood and Produce Company, Kristine’s, and and Witherspoon Grill.

The Newtown location would be the second for Blue Point Grill. The restaurant opened its first location in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1999.

The Blue Point Grill specializes in seafood dishes. The menu offers 25 different kinds of oysters, 23 varieties of prepared fish, crab cakes, and chowders.
