Dave’s Hot Chicken will be bringing the spice to Ocean Township this fall. The popular chain is on track to open its first Jersey Shore location this September, reports Asbury Park Press.

Dave’s Hot Chicken will take over the space vacated by Baja Fresh at 2311 Route 66. The location is a part of the thriving Seaview Square Shopping Center.

Though a precise opening date has not been announced, the Facebook group What’s Going There in Monmouth and Ocean Counties has shared a picture taken six days ago showing a “Coming Soon” sign at the location, indicating the restaurant is moving forward as planned.

The Ocean Township location is the first of many planned by franchisee Noraiz Khan. Khan entered into agreement with Dave’s Hot Chicken to open nine new facilities across central New Jersey. His territory includes Monmouth, Mercer, Middlesex and Somerset counties.

Khan explains that he chose to make Ocean Township Central Jersey’s first Dave’s Hot Chicken location because it is “the perfect spot”, adding “ We are looking to move as fast as possible.”

Dave’s Hot Chicken has been making a big push for New Jersey territory. The restaurant was founded in Los Angeles in 2017. Dave’s gained a devoted fanbase and began franchising in 2019. Dave’s Hot Chicken has grown exponentially, amassing more than 100 locations across four countries.

Dave’s Hot Chicken hews to a simple menu. Guests choose between chicken tenders or sliders. Customers curate their meal’s heat level, ranging from no spice to reaper-level spice. The restaurant offers fries, cheese fries, and coleslaw as sides.
