The Fort Lauderdale Italian staple, Anthony’s Runway 84, is getting a facelift, reports the Miami New Times. The iconic hangout will be back this fall with a new look.
Located at 330 W State Rd 84, the famed Italian restaurant and lounge known for its aviation themed dining has closed down for a revamp, according to the New Times. After one final bash on May 12, called Meatballs and Martinis, the concept closed their doors to initiate their $3 million renovation.
Expect to lose the aviation theme for a supper club, rat-pack ambiance. The menu is remaining the same, and the staff is being retained during the work, owner Anthony Bruno told the New Times.
Bruno has also partnered with two other restaurateurs to usher the concept into its new era: Pat Marzano and Marc Falsetto.
Falsetto is quoted in the report saying: “This isn’t about destroying what was. It’s about bringing Runway into the next era with refreshed design and aesthetics. We’re keeping all of the great things that made this place an institution. Guests will still get the same great food and service that they’ve always received.”
An exact re-opening date has not been announced. What Now reached out to Marzano, but we have yet to hear back.
