Between South Dixie Highway and South J Street, a new restaurant is preparing to offer more Haitian cuisine to the Palm Beach County community. Madou Love Restaurant will open its doors at 1108 S Dixie Highway, just south of Economy Inn Lake Worth Beach.

Behind the restaurant is owner Madeleine Lemorin. Lemorin has experience in the restaurant space, but Madou Love—in addition to being her namesake—is a major career step.

“It’s the first restaurant I’m going to own,” Lemorin told What Now on Monday.

Madou Love will offer dishes like fried pork, fried green plantains, Haitian Bouillon with mixed vegetables, and squash soup. Main dishes are generally served with rice and beans, or with white rice and Sauce Pois. Other dishes include chicken and fish served either stewed or fried.

The restaurant’s name, Lemorin says, has a simple meaning. “My name is Madeleine, but people call me Madou. And I’m a loving person; I love everybody.”

Keep an eye out for Madou Love opening on South Dixie Highway in Lake Worth.
