Known for its long lines of customers and top-notch service, Jet Coffee in Lafayette has been busy expanding in order to meet rabid demand, and a recent permit filing with the Lafayette government indicates the coffee company is set to renovate a space for its next location at 3123 Johnston St.

According to the permit filing, Jet Coffee is looking to renovate the former Johnston Street Java café at a cost of nearly $700,000. The new location will reportedly feature a two-lane drive-thru and fully-covered patio that’s meant to be used year-round.

Jet Coffee currently has two locations in Lafayette and plans for opening two more. In September 2022, the company announced a 3,000-square-foot location on Spring Farm Road that would have a rooftop coffee bar with large fans and outdoor furniture. In December, What Now New Orleans reported on the company’s plans to add a coffee roasting facility called The Hangar and coffee bar to its current flagship location.
