Known for its hand-breaded fried chicken and house-churned custard, Super Chix is a rapidly growing restaurant chain that is finally coming to Louisiana, with plans for a Lafayette location recently announced. The planned location will be a 2,800-square-foot-space on Camellia Drive near the city’s modern River Ranch development. Billy Jacob and Andrew Mitts are the two franchise partners behind the new location, and the franchisees bring extensive experience from having run more than a dozen Five Guys Burgers & Fries locations. According to reports, the Lafayette location would likely open early next year.

Super Chix is known for serving fried chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and house-churned custard in the counter service format. That might sound like a fast food restaurant, but press releases from the company push back on that label, citing a commitment to using fresh ingredients and never-frozen chicken cutlets. Super Chix is also known for its hand cut French fries and custom sauce bar, which allows customers to come up with their own sauce combinations. Those looking to be a bit more health conscious could opt for one of six different hand-tossed salads.
