According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “the Bay Area’s oldest drive-thru ice cream shop,” Meadowlark Dairy, is expanding in Livermore.

Coming to 2287 Second Street, taking over a space formerly home to Bank of the West, the eatery will offer a drive-thru and become neighbor to establishments such as Demitri’s Taverna, Rosetta Roasting, and The Riata Diner & Tavern.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Meadowlark Dairy, the business offers a brief introduction on its website: “Walter Briggs Sr. founded the Meadowlark Dairy in the early 1900s on 153 acres on Foothill Road. Meadowlark was the first certified Dairy in California, earning a Grade A designation for cleanliness and quality.”

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the eatery offers “velvety soft serve in flavors from salted caramel and coconut to mango.”

The location is slated to open on April 1. Stay tuned for updates.
