Ruby Tuesday shutters its Decatur location

Restaurant chain to close up to 33 other under-performing stores this year.

Ruby Tuesday has shuttered its Decatur location, according to Decatur Patch.

The restaurant, at 158 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., announced its closing on a sign posted to its front door.

Meridith Hammond, a corporate spokeswoman, told Decatur Patch in an email Wednesday the company plans to close 31 to 33 under-performing restaurants this year.

Ruby Tuesday closed its Decatur location for good  Sunday, May 20. No word on what will open in the restaurant’s place.

  • Always thought RT was a bad fit for downtown Decatur. Surprised it lasted as long as it did. Shame that it leads to a big empty storefront. Hopefully it’ll be filled again soon.

  • Snellville on 78 closed, too – okay but never great food at any location, salad bar concept is boring/old/passe/insert your cliche here. All microwave re-heats except for burgers/steaks. Still, I don’t like it when any business shuts it doors. Good luck to all…. TGIChilibee’s should be happy, though
