Serving up “Unrivaled Chicago Street Food,” Portillo’s is a favorite for food on the go at more than 100 locations. Now, a new Portillo’s is in the works in Kissimmee, as part of a proposed retail center.
The proposed retail center, which would be situated on a parcel on East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway between Cross Prairie Parkway and Aeronautical Drive, was discussed in an Osceola County Community Development Pre-Application meeting on September 1. It would include a Dutch Bros, a Portillo’s, and an unnamed oil change shop.
A new Portillo’s would mean more of Portillo’s classic hot dogs, including the Jumbo Hot Dog and the Jumbo Chili Cheese Dog; Beef & Sausage Sandwiches like the Italian Beef & Sausage Combo and the Beef-n-Cheddar Croissant; burgers; pasta; salad; and more coming to the area.
“We’re known for our famous Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, chopped salad, cheese fries, homemade chocolate cake, and chocolate cake shake,” says the Portillo’s website. “Our Italian beef is slow-roasted for four hours, thinly sliced, and served on freshly baked French bread. Then, it’s dipped in hot gravy made with our homemade blend of seasonings that we’ve been perfecting for 50 years. Haven’t tried Portillo’s yet? Order an Italian beef, dipped with sweet or hot peppers (add mozzarella if you’re feeling cheesy), or a Chicago-style hot dog “dragged through the garden” and you’ll see what all the hype is about.”
