Night Owl Pizza and Drinks, a Scottsdale-based eatery known for its pizza and beer, is getting ready to open a new location in Tempe at 2700 S. Mill Ave.

The company’s second site is set to move into the former home of Golden Pineapple Craft Lounge near Arizona State University, according to Phoenix New Times. The 5,500-square-foot space is now under construction, and the ownership team expects to open this Night Owl Pizza and Drinks location in late Summer 2025. This concept is the latest from the teams behind The Little Woody, Ziggy’s Magic Pizza Shop, and Stardust Pinbar, which includes members such as Genuine Concepts co-founder and partner Tucker Woodbury, plus Chuckie Duff and Ariel Bracamonte.

When Night Owl Pizza and Drinks opens its new location later this year, customers can look forward to several exciting features. The venue will include a pinball arcade area and a rectangular bar top uniquely lit and crafted from hand-painted surfaces of vintage pinball machines. Patrons will also find flatscreen TVs and a spacious 2,000-square-foot dog-friendly patio with a large shade tree and a fireplace. The interior will showcase a quirky assortment of barstools, tables, eclectic furnishings, vintage skateboard artwork, and thrift shop treasures.

According to Woodbury, the atmosphere is designed to evoke a “broken-in and dog-eared from day one” feel, featuring a mix of items to create the impression that it has been there forever, according to Phoenix New Times. In terms of food, Night Owl Pizza and Drinks will offer classic New York-style pizzas and a variety of beers on tap, along with smash burgers, alcoholic slushies, salads, and some pasta dishes. This Italian aspect of the menu pays homage to Riazzi’s Italian Garden, a long-standing establishment in Tempe that Golden Pineapple replaced.
