A new Mexican restaurant is seeking a liquor license at 5 Saint Marks Place between Second and Third Avenues. The space was formerly occupied by A-Roll Bar & Grill, which closed this past fall after a brief stint at the address.

Owners Andrea Barazza and Phillip Barazza are planning to open Andy’s Burros, which will serve a menu focusing on “burros” — or burritos — and burrito bowls, beer and margaritas, according to the filed paperwork.

Plans for the spot include 11 tables that will seat 34 and a bar at the back of the restaurant that will seat 6. The proposed hours for the location are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. until 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

The Barazzas are not new to the restaurant scene. They have operated Taqueria St. Marks Place since 2015 and Taqueria Gramercy since 2018. They also own Los Cuernos Mexican Restaurant & Cantina in Jersey City, which they have been operating since 2019.

As of now, an opening timeline for Andy’s Burros remains unknown.

What Now New York reached out to Andrea for further details, but she declined to provide additional information at this time.
