According to East Bay Nosh, East Bay breakfast spot Homemade Cafe plans to reopen on President’s Day weekend.

Located at 2454 Sacramento Street, the eatery is neighbor to establishments such as Breads of India, Mehak Indian Cuisine, and Tanzie’s.

“This surprising, crowd-pleasing turn of events is made possible by Doran’s longtime neighbor and friend, Rohit Singh, CEO of Breads of India” who, in February, “contacted, the eatery’s owner, [Collin] Doran, and asked if he could help save and restart the restaurant.”

“It’s a nice collaboration. I will be here doing the day-to-day operations and training people and still doing some cooking and serving. But we’re both invested in this succeeding. It was very touching when Rohit first got in touch with me. It’s clear that we both feel this place is such a fixture that it should still exist, mainly for the community,” Doran tells the Journal.

Homemade Cafe is slated to open before the end of February. Stay tuned for updates.
