A new café is coming soon to Fort Worth.
Called Blue Butterfly, the eatery will focus on healthy dishes, offer fresh baked goods and feature a craft coffee bar. It is taking over the former space of Olivella’s at 6333 Camp Bowie Blvd, suite 240. The pizza and wine restaurant closed its doors there in 2020 in favor of a smaller location about a mile away at 4910 Camp Bowie Blvd.
But back to Blue Butterfly …
The café is a new fast casual clean eating concept from Tennessee-based healthy lifestyle brand, Trim Healthy Mama. Founded by sisters Pearl Barrett and Serene Allison, Trim Healthy Mama got its start with a line of New York Times bestselling cookbooks and now offers an extensive array of products such as dry baking mixes, plant protein powders, chips, coffees, and sweeteners. There’s also a makeup line called Made Makeup by THM, as well as cleansers, creams and lotions.
Blue Butterfly is the first franchise from Trim Healthy Mama and the brand is hoping that the forthcoming Fort Worth café will pave the way for future cafés to open. And while Blue Butterfly will have the Trim Healthy Mama mark all over it, the café is actually being brought to the area by two Fort Worth natives — Corinne Cavanaugh and Renae Graves. They left their long-time careers in insurance to open Blue Butterfly and have been working with Barrett and Allison on recipes for the café.
“I have followed Trim Healthy Mama’s expansion for a number of years, and when they posted that they were looking for their first franchisee ― they wanted to get a mama that really understood their line,” Cavanaugh told Paper City Mag.
When it opens, guests can expect a selection of sugar free and gluten free baked goods, fresh artisan sourdough bread, a full espresso bar, healthy pizzas and house-made sugar free ice creams. The cafe’s coffee program will be overseen by Nate Musson of Hualālai Trading Company. He was recognized in 2017 by Forbes for creating “The Best Hotel Coffee in the World” at Four Seasons Resort Hualālai on Hawaii’s Big Island.
Updates from construction and other renovation work being made at the space have been posted to Facebook since February. There will be a retail space where Trim Healthy Mama products will be sampled and sold, as well as a patio area with fun features including a fireplace, a kids play area and selfie spot.
Blue Butterfly Café will seat around 150 guests. It is expected to open in early May, with the official grand opening being held later that month.
