Charleston-based sports bar chain Kickin’ Chicken is slated to open a new location as part of a mixed-use development in West Ashley.

Developer Adams Property Group recently announced that the popular chicken spot would be joining the four-building development, located at 1198 Bees Ferry Road near Hunt Club Run. Other shops leased for the development include a pediatric dentist, a nail salon, Southside Animal Hospital and Charleston Oral and Facial Surgery.

This will be the sixth Charleston-area location for the Kickin’ Chicken franchise, which was founded by locals Chip Roberts and Bobby Perry in 1997. According to its website, the Kickin’ Chicken menu revolves around the “famous original Kickin’ Chicken sandwich” and “good ole’ fried Southern fried cooking.” The restaurant offers full-service casual dining with beer, late-night menus, and delivery options.

Construction on the 38,000-square-foot retail and medical complex that will house the new restaurant is expected to be completed in December, with a grand opening in spring 2024.
