A new taco restaurant at 1712 Towne Centre Way is under construction, with plans to open within the next few months.

Ohio-based Condado Tacos is working on its first Charleston-area location at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, in a former Atlanta Bread Co. location between Lenscrafters and Malika Canteen.

The casual taco chain opened its first South Carolina location in Greenville earlier this year, as part of a 12-restaurant expansion backed by capital from The Beekman Group. The restaurant currently operates 45 corporate-owned locations across nine states.

According to a press release, Condado specializes in “craveable tacos, fresh margaritas and tequilas with an unmatched cool vibe and atmosphere.” Their unique offering allows patrons to build their own taco or choose from pre-set specialties.

An opening date has not yet been announced, but construction should wrap sometime in October, according to reporting by Post and Courier. After permitting and inspections, local foodies could expect to visit the new spot by November.
