The New York Butcher Shoppe will soon be bringing its sixth Charleston-area location.

The Greenville-based franchise will open its newest store at 1300 Savannah Highway in West Ashley’s Midway Plaza between Interstate 95 Coffee and Kanji Sushi Hibachi. That’s where crafting room Board & Brush Creative Studio closed its doors in July after four years.

The location will be operated by local franchisees Devin Kelly and Hunter Bishop, who recently applied for a beer and wine license at the location. The pair opened another NY Butcher Shoppe at 502 Nexton Square Dr in Summerville in 2021.

NY Butcher Shoppe combines the concepts of a market and tasting room, offering fresh meats and frozen takeaway dishes as well as fresh-prepraed dishes for in-house dining with beer and wine.

The brand currently has 29 locations; 14 in its home state of South Carolina, and others across North Carolina, Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. Existing Charleston-area locations include Summerville, Daniel Island, Isle of Palms, and Mount Pleasant at the Sea Island shopping center and the Market at Oakland.

No opening date has yet been announced for the forthcoming location in West Ashley.
