Earnest Bar & Hideaway closed this fall after an eight year run in Wedgewood-Houston. In an Instagram post in October, co-owner Chris Weber shared that they would be closing the restaurant to make way for The Hideaway, a fast-casual concept that would serve beer and burgers.

“Come in and see us one last time this week,” the post in October stated. “If you couldn’t hear over the construction noise in the video, we are serving beer only given the pivot to the new concept. Stay tuned here for updates on our new venture.”

However, in a phone interview with What Now Nashville this week, Weber indicated that the new concept will not be returning to the space 438 Houston St. #160 in Wedgewood-Houston. Weber cited challenges for businesses in the neighborhood as the reason.

Weber said that the team still plans to open a new fast-casual concept, as promised, but it will be in another area of Nashville. He said they are still looking for a spot, but he is eyeing the east side of Nashville for the new concept.

While Weber does not have an exact timeline for when customers can expect the new spot to open, he said it will be at least a year out.
