Hoy’s Wok, the beloved Chinese restaurant that has lived in Hollywood since 1985, is officially relocating following its temporary closure.

The restaurant had its last day of service on April 18 before temporarily shutting down until they find a new location that is best and safe for everyone, according to their website. The family-owned restaurant survived the pandemic but, unfortunately, is taking time to find a better location for business. The exact location is still unknown, as the family is actively searching for a new home for the restaurant. When the restaurant reopens after relocating, guests can expect the same excellent service and incredible traditional Chinese cuisine.

While it was operating between La Brea and Sunset, the restaurant was self-proclaimed as the best Chinese cuisine in all of Los Angeles. The restaurant, originally located at 7105 West Sunset Blvd., made all of its food fresh daily and to order, with customizable dishes with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. On top of that, Hoy’s Wok also serves over 100 Different types of Boba Tea. For those who couldn’t order for pick up, the restaurant also offered delivery for anyone within two miles.

This relocation isn’t the only significant change for Hoy’s Wok. This year, their original chef, chef Paul Ip, retired after 37 years of service. He, along with the rest of the Ip family, have made tons of memories within the Hollywood restaurant. The family is asking anyone from the public to send their pictures to the family so they can remember all of the wonderful years of service. When the new restaurant opens, the family will make new memories in a different location.
