Upscale grocery store Bristol Farms is getting ready to move into the former home of Rite Ait in Hollywood, located at 1841 N Western Ave.
This will be the company’s 11th location in Los Angeles County and 15th overall, all being in California, along with five branded as Lazy Acres Markets. The company already has locations in Hollywood, at 7880 Sunset Boulevard, and in West Hollywood, at 9039 Beverly Boulevard. Now, Bristol Farms, led by CEO Adam Caldecott, is getting ready to open on the other side of Hollywood at an unknown time. When the new store opens, customers can expect high-end groceries not often found at other stores, such as tomahawk steaks and craft beers.
Bristol Farms started in 1982 from Rolling Hills Estates by Irv Gronsky and Mike Burbank. After working in the food industry for over two decades, the two wanted to combine the service and food quality of a corner grocer, butcher, and baker. Since its inception, the company has been bought and sold by many parent companies, including Albertsons, Inc., Supervalu, Inc., and finally, Good Food Holdings, Inc. In 2018 Good Food Holdings, Inc. was purchased by Emart, South Korea’s largest retailer.
