A new Korean BBQ experience is heading to Culver City. The team behind local concepts Mikomi Sushi and Seoul Alley will open HWA ON at 9355 Culver Blvd. Manager Daniel Chung Min told What Now Los Angeles that they are aiming for an opening in late September.

“HWA ON was created with one simple vision: to bring a modern, premium Korean BBQ experience designed specifically for the diverse Culver City community,” Chung Min said. “Rather than recreating a traditional Koreatown restaurant, we wanted to create a concept that reflects the character, energy and diversity of the neighborhood.”

“HWA ON” translates to fire and warmth in Korean, referencing the welcoming, community-oriented aspect of Korean BBQ.

“We were drawn to Culver City because of its vibrant mix of residents, professionals, creatives and families,” Chung Min said. “We believe it’s the perfect place for a Korean BBQ restaurant that combines exceptional food, genuine hospitality and a contemporary dining experience.”

HWA ON, located in the historic Citizen Publishing Company Building, will offer a modern, warm design with natural materials, clean lines and comfortable seating. There will also be a full-service bar with handcrafted cocktails, premium spirits, Korean beer and soju.

The menu will offer traditional Korean BBQ with Wagyu beef, combination platters and à la carte options. There will also be Korean side dishes and lunch specials for customers to order.
