Husband-and-wife team Ryan and Jennifer Kolarov — alongside business partner Carl Boyajian — is brewing up a new concept in the Triangle.

The bar, which will be called Blotto, is expected to open in a few months, according to the Triangle Business Journal. The bar will take over a 2,500 square foot space at 1601 New Bern Ave., a retail area that has been under redevelopment.

Customers can expect a beverage program focused on English beers, cocktails and local craft beer.

The Kolarovs are not new to the bar and brewery scene in the Triangle. They own and operate Neuse River Brewing Company at 518 Pershing Road.

The Kolarovs first opened Neuse River Brewing Company’s brewery in the Five Points neighborhood of Raleigh in 2015. It focuses on offering a wide selection of beers, with an emphasis on Belgian ales and IPAs. The taproom features a bar and herb garden. The couple also added The Brasserie — a restaurant with a European bistro-style menu — to the Neuse River concept in 2019.

While both Neuse River and Blotto focus on beers, they will be independent concepts.
