From Southern Table Hospitality Group’s Benjamin and Liza Groshell, a new restaurant concept Billy Jack’s BBQ will soon open in Jacksonville.

A recently filed permit shows that the location of the new Billy Jack’s will be taking over the old Barz Bar & Package building.

Located at 9560 Heckscher Drive, Billy Jack’s will be the Groshell’s ninth business in their lineup of successful Floridian restaurants. It will also be their second barbecue joint, with Valley Smoke BBQ being their first.

“We’re hoping to be open within six to eight weeks from now,” Liza Groshell told What Now Jacksonville.

The restaurant is expected to serve local and fresh foods, inspired by Florida and consistent with the other offerings at their varying restaurants.

According to the Southern Table Hospitality website, “the company is passionate about locally-sourced meats, fish, fruits and vegetables across all restaurant locations, so you can feel good about supporting purveyors from the Sunshine State.”

The waterfront location of the restaurant also faces St. John’s River, providing beautiful scenery for guests to enjoy while feasting on the local BBQ fare.
