Parker’s Kitchen, the convenience store gas station that serves ready-to-go meals, is considering North Jacksonville for its next location.

The Savannah-based company received a mobility fee calculation certificate last month to open a 5,175-square-foot location at Faye Road and Alta Drive, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. Parker’s Kitchen jumped on the opportunity after Drayton-Parker Companies LLC paid $5.3 million for the 10-acre property off Interstate 295 South. The application shows space for 24 vehicle fueling stations, as well as an inside space that will offer Southern-inspired food, such as catfish, grits, and fried chicken. This will be the only Parker’s Kitchen in Florida.

Founder and CEO Greg Parker first launched Parker’s Kitchen from Midway, Georgia, in 1976 to change how customers experience convenience stores. Unlike most gas stations in the country, this chain offers freshly prepared food made onsite. Other delicious food items on the menu include biscuits baked daily, chicken tenders, pork chops, fried livers, gizzards, pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, breakfast burritos, and more. Last month, the company announced it would open a new location in Augusta, Georgia, next year.

“At Parker’s Kitchen, we’re redefining food service and convenience, offering freshly prepared Southern-inspired food, high-quality products, and superior customer service at retail stores throughout coastal Georgia and South Carolina,” according to the company’s website. “Our team members share a powerful commitment to exceeding customer expectations, which is why we’ve repeatedly been recognized as one of the nation’s leading food service and convenience companies.”
