According to recent public records, Goonsquad Ice Cream shop, a new independent ice cream shop is coming to St. John’s, set for 4021 County Road 210 W.

“It’s the first of the brand,” says co-owner Samantha Taft to What Now Jax. “It’ll be a soft-serve ice cream shop and we’ll also have candy by the pound.”

Taft explains that Goonsquad won’t be a “traditional ice cream” shop, prioritizing West Coast Vibes as they will feature rock and grunge music and deck the walls with “surfboards, skateboards, graffiti” and other emblems of California culture.

When asked why they chose this particular spot in St. John’s, she says “It’s an upcoming area; lots of families. We don’t have any ice cream shops around, and no chill spots for teenagers.”

So when can eager readers expect it to open?

“We should be opening in the spring, around April or May.”
