A small grilled cheese chain is coming to Greater Boston.

According to an article from Universal Hub, Melty will soon open in Dedham, taking over the former site of Gilbert’s Wine & Spirits at 290 Washington St.

CEO and founder David Nibley confirmed this development with What Now Boston, expressing enthusiasm about the expansion.

The upcoming eatery will be operated by passionate local franchisees. Nibley noted that if the Dedham location succeeds, the same franchisees may open additional Melty restaurants in the area.

Founded in Utah in 2020, Melty has grown to five locations across Utah, California, and Tennessee. The upcoming Dedham outlet will be the first in Massachusetts.

The chain specializes in a variety of cheesy, melt-in-your-mouth sandwiches, from classics like the Kids Grilled Cheese to more inventive options such as the BBQ Brisket, Chicken Avocado, and French Dip melts. The restaurant also offers burgers, chicken sandwiches, “Meltadillas,” mac and cheese bites, salads, soups, sides, and desserts.

The new Melty location is slated to open in late September 2024.
