Sudbury locals will soon have a new spot to share small Mediterranean plates.

According to a report from Sudbury Weekly, Zayith Tapas and Bar is taking over the former site of Fugakyu Cafe at 621 Boston Post Rd. At a recent Select Board meeting, the property manager requested the withdrawal of Fugakyu’s liquor license so that Zayith could apply.

Sudbury Weekly reached out to Zayith’s owners, who revealed that the forthcoming restaurant will specialize in European and Mediterranean cuisine. Expect “a mosaic of small plates inspired by the rich gastronomic heritage of France, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt, Spain, Italy, and the larger Mediterranean region.”

Zayith Tapas and Bar representatives will appear before the Select Board next week to seek approval for an alcohol license. It’s too early to share a projected opening date, so keep an eye out for further details as this project progresses.
