A new upscale restaurant is headed to Natick.

The Natick Select Board recently approved an all-alcohol on-premises license for Gatsby’s Chop House, which will be located on the first floor of the Natick Mall at 1245 Worcester St, in the former Met Bar space.

According to a Natick Report article, the roughly 7,000-square-foot restaurant will offer seating for between 242 and 278 occupants, including an outdoor seating area. Gatsby’s attorney has requested to extend alcohol service until 1 a.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays, though this will require further discussion.

“I’m trying to bring something completely very nice, high-end to Natick,” said restaurant owner and local entrepreneur Harry Harjani, noting that residents currently need to travel to Boston or beyond for such fine dining. Harjani compared the restaurant concept to Worcester’s 111 Chop House.

The proposed Gatsby’s menu features soups and appetizers such as lamb lollipops ($17) and beef tartare ($25), along with The Great Gatsby-themed entrées like Daisy Seduced by Salmon ($40) and Old Money Chicken ($33). The menu will also offer a variety of steak options, including a $150 family meal.

Once all town approvals are secured, Gatsby’s Chop House could open within 45 to 60 days.
