Healthy fast-casual chain Sweetgreen has opened its second outpost in the Greater Tampa area, launching next to Hyde Park Village, at 722 S Village Circle, at the end of last month. And according to recent coverage by Creative Loafing Tampa Bay, a third outpost is planned for St. Petersburg’s Edge District.

“We’re leading a movement to reimagine fast food for a new era,” reads the Our Mission page on Sweetgreen’s website. The brand was founded by three friends in Washington, D.C. back in 2007 and has since grown to include hundreds of locations nationwide.

Sweetgreen’s menu opens with creative salads like the Humus Crunch Salad (Hummus, olives, chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded cabbage, red onions, basil, za’atar breadcrumbs, chopped romaine, shredded kale, pesto vinaigrette) and the Kale Caesar. Next come Warm Bowls like the Spinach Florentine Bowl and the Shroomami (Roasted sesame tofu, warm portobello mix, raw beets, cucumbers, basil, sunflower seeds, warm wild rice, shredded kale, miso sesame ginger dressing).

No opening timeline has been revealed for the St. Pete location. Opening in the Edge District, it will join food and drink destinations like Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails, Green Bench Brewing Company, Hawkers Asian Street Food, and Grassroots Kava House.
