A cat cafe like no other is planning to open its doors soon in Tampa. Cat lover and entrepreneur Kim Ruiz Lozada will open Feline at 12924 N Dale Mabry Highway, collaborating with St. Francis Society Animal Rescue to foster cats onsite for adoption, offering guests cat time, coffee, small bites, and a lounge feel.
“Imagine a “vibey” atmosphere of assorted tapas, select wine, craft beer, and brewed coffee,” reads the Feline website, “along with adoptable cats in a separate lounge space of their very own!”
A few example dishes from the food menu include Empanadas with Mango Salsa, Black Bean Hummus with Pita Chips, Bacon-Wrapped Sweet Plantains, and Shrimp Ceviche with Tropical Chips. Feline will also offer coffee beverages, plus beer and wine.
“It’s a cat café at its core, but it’s a very vibe-y, lounge-y environment. There’s nothing cutesy about it,” Lozada told the Tampa Beacon.
The Tampa Beacon’s coverage says the lounge will be split into themed sections, including a “vintage” area with love seats, a “posh” area with a velvet banquette, and a “boho chi” area with a “wicker vibe.” There is also a back room that can serve as a virtual work space or a special event space.
