The team behind Lolita’s Wine Market are preparing to branch out with a brand-new concept, Chef’s Table by Lolita’s, according to recent coverage by St. Pete Rising.
Lolita’s Wine Market, which launched back in 2017, offers a variety of charcuterie boards and tapas in its current home 420 22nd Street South. The brand was formerly operating a Grand Central District location, at 16 18th Street South, and it is in that storefront that Chef’s Table by Lolita’s will get its start.
“Chef Alex Rodriguez and his wife, Kelly moved to St. Petersburg from Miami in 2015,” says the Lolita’s website. “Inspired by their favorite neighborhood spots there, and with a little help from their tenacious rescue pup Lola, they opened Lolita’s Wine Market.”
The brand is therefore named not only after the Rodriguez’s dog, but after a certain part of her personality: “We have a Rescue Pup, her name is Lola; She is Sassy, not Sweet! But when she’s bad we call her LOLITA, and when she’s bad she causes us to drink! So, in order to drink good wine, we had to open a Wine Shop…so, raise your glass to our girl Lolita.”
What Now reached out to Kelly Rodriguez on Wednesday to inquire the restaurateurs’ vision for the Chef’s Table by Lolita’s menu. Rodriguez was not immediately available to discuss the concept.
