A popular Ashburn Thai restaurant is bringing delicious cuisine and chic ambience to South Riding in 2024. Sense of Thai is opening a new location at the South Riding Market Square shopping center next year, reports local media outlet The Burn.
The eatery is taking over the 4,100 square-foot space vacated by Ford’s Fish Shack at 25031 Riding Plaza #150. Sense of Thai’s general manager Jeremy Ross spoke to What Now DC about bringing the beloved restaurant to Southern Loudoun County. He states “We’ve always wanted to expand in Loudoun County. We’ve had an impressive demand in Western and Southern Loudoun, so once we heard of the space becoming available we jumped at the opportunity to have our second Sense of Thai St. in South Riding.”
Ross explains that South Riding has been on Sense of Thai’s radar for a while, saying “We’ve been interested in South Riding since 2017. The previous projects didn’t work out but we didn’t lose interest and once the right space was available we made it happen.”
The new location will allow the Sense of Thai team more space to create a grander and more interactive dining experience. “Now we have the chance to offer a bigger bar and larger dining area, with the layout perfect for hosting multiple large groups.” Ross states, adding “The open kitchen will offer dine-in guests the chance to witness dishes being prepared right in front of them.”
Sense of Thai novices can look forward to a world class dining experience, complete with superior drink options. Ross tells future regulars they can expect “a dining experience founded on the bold flavors of Thailand, paired with a bar program that has gained national attention for our uniquely crafted cocktails.”
Prospective customers unfamiliar with Thai food shouldn’t be intimidated by the menu. Ross recommends trying the Pad Thai, explaining “Pad Thai has always been the gateway to Thai food but I’d strongly suggest first-time guest to try our Chumphon Pad Thai. It’s a southern Thai style Pad Thai with a focus on seafood, wrapped in a paper thin omelet. There’s a touch of spice with coconut milk in the sauce to complete the balancing act.”
While a precise opening date can not yet be established with any certainty, Ross projects the South Riding Sense of Thai will begin feeding hungry customers in spring of 2024.
