One of the DMV’s hippest delis is preparing to give a fresh infusion of carbohydrates to a new and hungry neighborhood. Call Your Mother is bringing its nationally celebrated cuisine to Crystal City early next year, reports local media outlet ARLNow.

Arlington diners can look forward to sampling the eatery’s fare at  1671 Crystal Drive, in the kiosk space that last housed Cracked Eggery. Enthusiastic locals eager to sample Call Your Mother’s buzzy dishes can’t mark their calendars just yet; a precise opening date has not been announced. However, owner Andrew Dana confirms with What Now DC that Call Your Mother will be opening its Crystal City location by January 15, at the latest.

Call Your Mother established itself as a DMV heavy-hitter in 2018, when it opened its first brick-and-mortar in DC. An instant hit, thanks to its whimsical approach to Jewish favorites, the deli has spread to multiple locations across the region.

Co-founders Andrew Dana and chef Daniela Moreira apply a playful lens to their serious art. The Call Your Mother website describes the concept’s signature bagels as: “somewhere between a classic NY-style bagel and the sweeter, Montreal-style bagels from our friends up North.”
