Cass City is anticipated to have a new Taco Bell by the end of this year, or at the beginning of 2024 at the former Cass City Church of the Christ area on Main Street. The area was recently rezoned from a residential to a business parcel. The rezoning was approved in August and construction began in October.

As a national Tex-Mex fast-casual restaurant chain, Taco Bell has 7,865 restaurants in the United States, as of October 2023, with 325 locations in Michigan.

The Cass City Taco Bell is owned and operated by multi-unit franchise operator Dortch Enterprise, also known as Great Lakes Taco. Owned by Lou Dortch and Robert Grabowski, the business has put imminent effort into bringing Taco Bell restaurants to smaller towns across Michigan, including a Sebewaing location anticipated to open in mid-December.

The new Taco Bell has set up a pre-fabricated building in October, soon after receiving approvals for construction. The restaurant looks to be fully operational within the following 90 days although there is an ambitious anticipation to open the restaurant by the end of 2023, as indicated in a Michigans Thumb article.

By the time of this coverage, a representative from Dortch Enterprise was not available for comments.
