It is the beginning of something new for the company.

The team at Botanas El Paiza are working on opening Casa Amigos this year at 64055 Van Dyke Avenue in Washington Township. This will be serving many of the same cuisine fans of Botanas have come to know, but under a new name. According to co-owner Orlando Guerrero, the opening date will likely be sometime next month.

This family-owned Mexican restaurant and bar first opened on North Almont Street in Imlay City in 2017. From there, Orlando and his wife, Rita, expanded to Davison Road in Davison Township. They have continued to serve their staples like quasibarras, fajita dinners and burritos, and will soon fire up the grills in Washington township to serve the same dishes.

“Our family gets to bring our sazón de Guanajuato to a third community,” says the recent post from Botanas El Paiza.

The new location is on the west side of Van Dyke Avenue, next to a Mobil gas station. Other restaurants on this side of the road include Hungry Howie’s Pizza and Shawarma Xtreme. This is a short drive of downtown Washington, and close to the Van Dyke Freeway on-ramp.

As it gets closer to the opening, more updates on the Casa Amigos location can be found on their Facebook page.
