Chick-fil-A published a statement on Nov. 21, announcing that the corporation is eyeing a new location in Saginaw Township to expand its footsteps in mid-Michigan. The nearest Chick-fil-A in the area is the one in Flint, MI, which opened this September.

“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing a new location in Saginaw Township,” the statement shared. “We look forward to working through the approval process.”

Each Chick-fil-A is locally owned and operated and creates approximately 80 to 120 jobs. Although the corporation has not begun looking for an owner/operator since the new location is still early in the planning. “We hope to have the opportunity to serve new guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality,” the statement continued.

According to township records, this is not the first time the popular fast-casual chicken restaurant chain has considered adding Saginaw to its portfolio, except previous attempts of opening one up in the area never came to fruition.

The proposed Chick-fil-A restaurant will be built on a lot on the south side of Tittabawassee and east of Berl Dr, near Creation Coffee. The restaurant will be built from the ground up. The Saginaw location will be the chain’s 30th store in Michigan.
