A KFC is planned in Bad Axe at 769 North Van Dyke Road, where a Burger King previously stood. The existing building will be demolished by the end of the year to make way for new construction and the fast food restaurant is anticipated to open in Spring 2024. The current plan is to begin pouring concrete before pausing work for the winter season and returning to work in early spring.

The KFC will be operated by franchisee 7 Bells LLC, a sub-company to multi-unit franchise operator Northland Investments. The company is the designated Midwest partner for various brands, including quick-serve restaurant chains such as KFC, Taco Bell, and Long John Silvers, and fast-casual chain Blaze Pizza.

KFC originally had a location in Bad Axe, MI, although the store shut down during the pandemic. The new KFC is expected to bring in 20-25 new jobs, although applications for the new location are not yet available on the corporate website.
